Description
5mm Frosted LEDs – 10 Pieces
Red, Blue, Green, Yellow or White
Diffused lens LEDs bright 5mm LEDs are incredibly bright with a wide beam angle. They’re suitable for use in your projects, illuminations, car lighting, models or anywhere where you need low power, high-intensity reliable lighting or indication. They fit easily into a breadboard and will add that extra zing to your project.
The lens has a frosted effect, which distributes the light evenly. Excellent for use in all types of indicators where an unfocused light is desirable. They work well mounted in our 5mm LED Holders and the light produced from the Red, Green, Blue, Yellow or White LED appears very crisp and clean.
The 5mm T1 3/4 LED is the most common size of LED available.

LED Series Dropping Resistor
Each light emitting diode (LED) has an optimal and maximum current which they can safely handle. Going beyond that maximum current, even briefly, may damage the LED internally without any visible signs. The damage can include reduced intensity, inconsistent power requirements, heating, or shortened useful life. Thus, limiting the current through the LED with the use of a series resistor is a necessary and straightforward practice.
The chart below lists LED models along with the supply voltages. From there, determine the value of the Series Dropping Resistor. The last column (3.3v @ 8mA) lists the dropping resistor value necessary for low-current operation (less than 8mA) for 3.3V applications (like NodeMCU logic pins).
